In old days medical setups or Institutes were never even thought of taking money in form of advance…but with changing world…now almost all medical setups demands money deposits from relatives of patient.

There is nothing wrong in it as no medical health setup refuses emergency treatments on this ground…rather emergency treatment is the task of medical professionals even without thought of money.

There are few noticeable cases where relatives of critical patients had refused the charges of treatment…and abused Doctors…and this could have frustrated medical professional…and slowly the norm of taking money in advance of planned treatment has entered in medical profession…and now become a standardized trend.

But Doctors needs to be very couscous about this issue as unsatisfied relatives may weigh you in balance of money…raise the question of humanity…and demoralize the profession as a whole.

We have seen Doctors visiting houses of patients door to door begging for credit money…So rather not offering credits and demand for money in advance has saved Doctors status.

Some Institutional trust hospital is providing pick up & drop service for patient and accompanied relatives.

Hospital in city area with intention to give medical health facilities to patients from rural area…arranges health bus to take patients to their hospital for necessary consultation, investigations & treatment at reasonable or negligible cost. 

The aim of hospital is remarkable and good for medium socio economical peoples.

But it is must to take precaution not ill practice it by any means.

It should not be like arranging free camp to collect patient and to operate them at particular hospital with charges.

In changing trend of medical practice or profession, this is one of the addition…practiced since five six years.

In near future we may see collection centers of patients…aiming to collect patients…situated at periphery or rural area owned by big hospitals in city.

The norm is like – your patient has Risk.

Doctors are in tremendous pressure of stress.

Doctors are in stress not because of patients’ line of treatment but regarding tendency of patient & their relatives regarding not paying the amount of bill.

Is Multilevel Marketing by doctors is unethical?

As far as ethics are concerned for recent medical profession…it is now time to change the concept of ethics.

In this modern word of ambition, modern world of competition, modern world of high living standard, if a particular doctor has a ability to do any sort of side business…why one should object?

Till today nobody has taken objection and nobody is against it.

As multilevel marketing is one of the popularized ways of doing marketing of products…under the head business with small investment and no risk…if any particular doctor is doing it as a side business nobody should take concern on it.

So with out using complicated term ethics…one should not react or comments on the doctors involved or doing multilevel or chain marketing.

appointing persons for picking patients from places or their native area and referring them to a particular doctor with expectation of some money...is now developing trend ...though it is in developing stage...

It will not be surprise a day or another a gynecologist put big banner mentioning – “ येथे गर्भ पिशवी धुवून मिळेल.”   meaning ‘We do Abortion’...as such banners are already there in big cities…on railway stations.

In this new world of advertisements and world of competitions…it is like no option to advertise them selves…by various ways…

The ways are changing…and need is to change the ethics…instead of blaming doctors.

No rule and regulation on advertisements by quacks…or paramedical persons…then doctors are only targeted on the name of ethics.

2. Medical stores now are like a friend in need is a friend indeed.

It is our responsibility to keep it true in both the ways.
